Today boutique or smaller cigar brands are coming out of the woodwork and producing incredible cigars and blends. I was given five pack cigar sample of Cigar Clowns Cigars by a cigar rep the other day, which at first, I thought I wasn’t going to even try. Let me give you the back story on Cigar Clowns was started by six friends from Brooklyn and has since worked their way up the boutique ladder the old-fashioned way and enjoyed smoking cigars and wanted to create blends and cigars that people would like to smoke. Perhaps the brand’s most ambitious project to date is the Master of Puppets, which arrives with the motto “Nobody pulls the Cigar Clowns’ strings!” The Geppetto uses a dark oily leaf Ecuadorian hybridized Brazilian seed grow wrapper, with a Habano binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Notes of coca, cinnamon, roasted coffee and island spice makes this a very pleasurable cigar to smoke. The only issue was the burn; I had to touch up several times on the one side to burning to fast but other than that the gage is perfect. Great cigar if you can find them in your local brick-and-mortar or search for retail locations online.
